Both towns have impressive castles set in prime position to protect the Pennine Way. North of Gayles stands High Force Waterfall the biggest in Great Britain where walks above and below are popular. Within an hour s drive you can reach the Lake District Seaham Beach City of Durham numerous National Trust properties and gardens and various quaint Yorkshire villages and towns. Locally there is a village pub and restaurant serving good food with a big welcome. The accommodation offers TWO bedrooms: 1 king-size and 1 twin. Bathroom: bath separate shower and WC. Richmond is a popular town with tourists in Yorkshire, England. Situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales it is the main tourist centre for the park. It is located not far from Hudswell, Brompton-On-Swale, East Layton, Darlington, Scorton, and Leyburn and is one of over 220 towns and villages in Yorkshire in which Go2 has cottages or holidays lets available. The closest cities are Ripon (population 16,468), Newcastle (population 189,863), and Leeds (which has a population of 443,247 according to the 2001 Census).
